Ngurah

Wayan Soksogan

Wayan Soksogan

is your 2nd security. He comes from Soksogan, which is a village next to Seseh. He is a modern man as he takes care of his household and kids during the day as his wife works. At night it is his turn and he is taking care of Villa Sansil.

The Dogs

As Villa Sansil is located on beach we are regularly confronted with dumped dogs and puppies. Balinese people cannot afford sterilisation or vet costs, so if a dog gets sick they dump it on the beach hoping the gods will take care. Also female dogs are not welcome as they will get babies. So we regularly take care of puppies and find them new homes.

Therefore the amount of dogs on the grounds vary: of course there is a hard core of dogs that stay, mainly because we love them. They are friendly and will seek your affection if you are into dogs. If not – they will leave you in peace.

So Villa Sansil is the perfect getaway for dog lovers. To maintain cleanliness, we do not allow dogs in the bedrooms or on furniture However, you are free to take them for a walk on the Bali sands, and they are your backup security system in case of any unwanted guests – though Seseh beach is a very safe neighborhood.

Baguss

Bagus

Bagus was found more dead than alive. She was so malnourished that she did not develop any teeth and when she was 2, she became blind.

Boum

Boomerang

Boom was left in front of the house at 2 months old. We found him a home but after 4 days he managed to escape and find his way back to us.

Caramel

Caramel

was also found in front of the gate and she is a very independent dog that takes off to the beach on her own. She finds people and sits with them like she is their dog, trying to get them to feed her.

Happy

Happy

Happy started out in our bale being chased by all the dogs, but he didn’t give up. It took him 2 months and then he moved in.

Jegeg

Jegeg

“Jegeg” means “pretty girl” in Balinese. Like many others, She also turned up at the gate and we couldn’t let her go.

Liefie copy

Lieffie

“Sweetheart” in Dutch. He was an adorable pup but mischievous when he was small. He got into trouble and was almost beaten to death. It caused a trauma that he never totally got over. He now thinks he is the leader of the pack.

Lucy

Lucy

Lucy came in, being very sick and too shy to touch. Slowly she got better to become a very sweet funny dog with a very loud voice when she tells Lieffie off. She loves cuddles.
